What is a DNOW (Disciple Now)? 

  • Small Groups: Students gather in small groups divided by age and gender, and staying in local “host homes” volunteered by church members. Host homes are still TBD.
  • Worship and Teaching: Participants meet for large-group worship, music, and biblical messages.
  • Fellowship and Fun: The weekend includes games, community-building activities, and shared meals.
  • Service: Students will serve a local service projects (Children’s Hunger Fund).

STUDY OVERVIEW:

Teach The Way and invite your students on the journey of a lifetime. One that doesn’t just change where they are going but transforms how they walk every step of the way. In The Way, students will discover that following Jesus is more than a one-time decision. It is a daily pursuit of truth, wisdom, and love. Through Scripture, community, and Spirit-led conversation, they will be challenged to walk in light, reject what blocks their path, and live with purpose. The Way is not just a theme. It is a lifestyle, and Jesus is calling them to walk it today.

Speaker Josh Rivera!

Josh currently serves as the Youth and family Minister at Highlands Bible Church, Dallas, Texas. Josh grew up at Parkhills Baptist Church and even served as an intern under Caleb Lantz. Josh is an energetic, passionate, and caring person who desires to see students know Jesus as their personal savior.

Worship Chad Humphrey!

Chad currently serves as the Worship/Community Pastor at First Baptist Lavernia, TX. Chad has a desire to see people come into genuine worship and has served in ministry for many years. 

 

MEET YOUR HOST HOMES!!!

Middle School Girls Host Home Schroeder's House

The Schroeder family has had three Kids all participate in the student ministry. They currently have two students still in the student ministry. They are no new-be to hosting student ministry events. They have attended Parkhills since 2004, 22 years.

Middle School Guys Host Home Vig's House

The Vig family has had 4 Kids go through the student ministry and their youngest currently serves as a Student Small Group leader every week. Steve Vig has taught 5th grade connection group class for years and Patti Vig is currently the Director at The School At Parkhills. 

High School Girls Host Home Turner's House

The Turners currently lead the college/young adult ministry. They have served at VBS and hosted DNOWS before. They have attended Parkhills for 3 years.

High School Guys Host Home Gray's House

The Gray family has had 3 Kids go through the Student ministry and currently have one high school student still in the student ministry. They were a host home for the high school girls last time we had a dnow, hosted pool parties, and more. Christa Gray is the Kids Ministry Associate, Stephen Gray currently serves and the chairman of the deacons. They have attended Parkhills since 2001, 25 years.
